My Project

In this project, I have included different sensory items to help better stock our calming corner. These materials will help students who need a break or some help regulating. There will be a designated place for these supplies and students will use them as needed. They are available for the whole class to use and for students to use as needed. My goal for this project is to provide students with resources and materials to help them calm and relax.

By having sensory items available, students will be able to take effective breaks to better prepare them for learning.

Students will be able to have breaks in the calming corner to regulate their feelings and emotions. These are calming tools such as sensory tubes and spiky rings. This will help with grounding techniques for students to refocus. It also includes a trampoline and bean bag chairs. This will be put into our calming corner to help students who have wiggles or need to sit and relax away from the class commotion. The calming corner has been a great success and just adding a bit at a time leads to the students being able to use and take advantage of it properly.
