Your Role at Sephora

As a Senior Usability Analyst at Sephora, you’ll be responsible for leading design research across a range of projects and platforms, advocating for our users’ needs at every step of the product development cycle. You’ll be an integral part of the Product Design & Research Team, working with other UX Researchers, Product Designers, Product Managers, Analytics, Creative, Marketing, Market Research & Consumer Insights, and other business partners to define strategie and improve experiences across web, apps (iOS and Android), stores (associate & customer facing in-store digital experiences), and other touchpoints (emerging technology).

Responsibilities

• Support the product design team in an iterative, user centered design process
• Analyze data from qualitative studies including usability tests, interviews, participatory design, and heuristic evaluations
• Lead research responsibilities on projects across a domain of work
• Conduct foundational research to help inform product and design strategy
• Be a thought partner, collaborating with cross-functional teams in idea generation & exploration
• Lead the design, execution, and coordination of high-impact research studies (generative, evaluative, in person, remote, moderated, unmoderated, and beyond)
• Translate research findings into actionable insights and specific design recommendations
• Partner with Market Research and Consumer Insights and Analytics teams to create a 360 view of user data to inform design
• Help maintain a well organized and easily accessible database of past research documentation

We’re excited about you if you have:

• A strong passion for design research, and user centered design
• Experience conducting both qualitative and quantitative user research
• Comfort working in an agile development environment, quickly responding to new work requests, and juggling many projects simultaneously
• An innate understanding of the difference between testing for user behavior vs. user preference, and how to design appropriate tests for each
• Stellar communication skills – you can present complex information to audiences ranging from developers to executives and leave them informed and inspired

Qualifications:

• Portfolio of digital product design research with a focus on mobile channels
• 5+ years of experience in a UXR role

• Our North American operations are based in the heart of San Francisco’s Financial District where we support our stores in providing the best possible experience for every client.

This is a Consulting/Contractor position

• This is a consulting/contractor role, employed through one of Sephora's staffing agency partners. Contract to hire is possible, but not assured. The role requires full-time hours, approximately 40 hours per week, with a 9-5 PT schedule.
