A Wonderful And Pitiful Woman

Ansen whispered sweetly to Olivia, who turned white and glared at the envelope.

“Let’s do it like now. I will pay more attention to make sure your living expenses aren’t cut off.”

Olivia could easily infer the sincerity hidden in Ansen’s words.

‘So, just hide behind the guy’s name Oliver and be quiet.’

How funny was it that he could say things like that so confidently?

“Don’t say this is living expenses.”

As she slowly raised her head, her face looked like she was trying to show strength in her own way, but from Ansen’s perspective, it was just soft. However, even though Olivia was shaking, she steadily uttered what she wanted to say.

“This is not living expenses but the remuneration you are obligated to pay me.”

Olivia opened the envelope and quickly counted the money, putting only what she needed into the bag and pushing the rest towards Ansen. She had been through this ridiculous thing countless times, and she still hadn’t developed any tolerance.

It was a strange thing.

“I’ve heard your answer, so I’ll get going first.”

As she got up from her seat as calmly as possible, she turned her body and glanced at the door before walking away.

The bag felt so heavy that the word ‘disdain’ was attached to the money.

She didn’t even have time to think about how she got out of the parlor. As she passed through the grand gates and walked aimlessly through her halls, a Madam, who was standing at the entrance to the halls, called her out.

“Miss Liberty.”

For a moment, cold sweat ran down Olivia’s spine.

She turned her head in surprise, and there was a middle-aged woman who looked very similar to Ansen Wilhelm.

“…Hello, Mrs. Wilhelm.”

Ansen Wilhelm’s mother, Mrs. Wilhelm, slowly glanced at her. Her eyebrows rose slightly as she saw Olivia’s appearance becoming more beautiful day by day.

After making sure no one was in the hallway, she opened her mouth.

“It’s really annoying to keep running into each other.”

Olivia was exhausted and didn’t even have the energy to respond.

“Well, I spoke in a roundabout way, so you didn’t understand. I didn’t want to say it like this, but listen carefully.”

She sharply articulated each syllable with her frighteningly stiff face.

“Girls don’t go in and out of a hotel carelessly. If my daughter had been going to hotels like you to meet men, I wouldn’t have left her alone.”

Olivia responded with a pale face.

“I am here because I have something to discuss with your son. This hotel’s parlors were mostly business…”

“What do you dare discuss with my son?”

Mrs. Wilhelm whispered, glaring at her with her coldly shining eyes.

“Take someone from the street and ask them. Is the reason you came to discuss some matters, or is it somehow to meet the head of the Wilhelm Corporation…”

“Mother.”

At that moment, Mrs. Wilhelm’s face, which had been fiercely stiff, became incredibly soft.

“Oh, Ansen. My son.”

Olivia took a step back from Mrs. Wilhelm and then opened her mouth.

“Mrs. Wilhelm, ask your son whether I had something to discuss or not.”

And before Mrs. Wilhelm could react sharply, she also spoke to Ansen.

“Next time, please don’t ask me to meet you at a hotel or something. I became the subject of some unnecessary misunderstanding. No… I don’t think we’ll ever have to meet again in the future. I’ll take my leave.”

“You dare…!”

Despite the fact that Mrs. Wilhelm immediately raised her voice, Olivia turned her body away, ignoring it. Her legs were shaking, but she couldn’t collapse in front of those two people.

“Spiteful thing.”

Mrs. Wilhelm muttered with malice in her eyes, glaring at the spot where Olivia had disappeared. It was surprising that she came from a poor commoner’s background and graduated from Herodington College, which was attended by aristocrats. How strong was she to be able to do that?

She was very displeased with that woman acting carelessly around her son.

However, what was worse than that was his son’s reaction. His eyes, his tone of voice, even his actions. It was difficult to pinpoint, but he definitely treated Olivia in a special way.

That was her motherly instinct.

“Ansen, if you want to expand your business further, you shouldn’t get hung up on an insignificant girl like that.”

Ansen was speechless. Mrs. Wilhelm held his hand tightly as she went on.

“Although Pulder is a republic, there is still class. The people who dominate the political and financial world are all from noble families. Get your act straight.”

What kind of expression would Mrs. Wilhelm make if she found out that that ‘insignificant girl’ was the one who created the ‘Magic Dome,’ the core of their business? Possibly, it wouldn’t bother her so much. She would say, ‘Who would believe that?’

Ansen chuckled and nodded.

“You’re getting worried for nothing, Mom. Let’s go in.”

He walked her mother down the hallway. Still, his eyes naturally looked beyond the window.

There she was, just getting into the carriage.

The pitiful genius, the beautiful Olivia.

Olivia climbed into the dark carriage and tried to forget Mrs. Wilhelm’s ever-increasing verbal abuse.

Although her hand was shaking pitifully as she tightly clutched the bag, she couldn’t vent this sad feeling to anyone, so she forced herself to swallow it.

Without her parents and with no wealth in her hands, it meant that she had no safe place. Olivia persevered and forgot about it when she was going through it, but on days like this, she missed it terribly and got sad.

Olivia glanced out the window blankly and took out the old notebook from her bag. When she opened the first page, there was the initial blueprint of the Magic Dome that she had drawn.

The face of Ansen, the boy who had put his head against hers, passed by like a vision.

“Using magical power to strike a monster? Then, there will be no need for the wizard to attack each monster one by one like now!”

“Yes. One wizard can attack hundreds of monsters with their magic. So I decided to name it this.”

“What?”

The boy, Ansen, leaned towards her, his eyes shining. Olivia smiled meaningfully and answered.

“Magic Dome.”

Her eyes turned red as she remembered the past.

“Don’t cry, Olivia. You can’t cry.”

Nevertheless, she ended up crying in front of the crumpled bundle of money.

“Get out! Where do you come in? Leave right now?!”

The shoulders of the waiting servants twitched at the roar that echoed through the hallway.

“One, two, three.”

Noah, who was walking leisurely down a hallway filled with light, counted the numbers, and as if it had been waiting, the door opened and a man came out.

His uncle, Duke Walter Lightwing, with his messy hair, stamped his feet and shouted desperately towards the closed door.

“Your Majesty!”

“Kick that crazy idiot who is of no use to anyone out of the Palace right away, right now!”

When the King’s angry voice was heard through the heavy door, Walter closed his eyes tightly. On the other hand, Noah walked slowly towards the great catastrophe, stopped at an appropriate location and quickly nodded.

“Hello, uncle.”

Then, he immediately resumed his stopped steps.

In response to the greeting, confused as to whether it was a greeting or not, Walter absentmindedly rolled his eyes as his nephew passed by.

“Noah!”

Just as he was standing in front of the door, Walter urgently called his nephew over. Noah, whose ill feelings toward his uncle were accumulating, only turned his head and looked at him.

If a person had a conscience, they would say they were sorry.

“Speak kindly to His Majesty. Huh?”

Noah felt like he was going to burst out laughing, so he clenched his jaw. What conscience did Walter of the royal family have?

“Yes, uncle.”

Noah turned his head fiercely and entered the open door.

The King’s office was filled with cigarette smoke, which made him frown. The first person his eyes met was Crown Prince Asher. As he greeted him with a small glance, Noah responded by nodding his head.

At that time, Leonard II burst into anger by throwing the newspaper at the wall.

“Why is this crazy b*stard drinking and not paying for his drinks? Huh?! How can he talk about being a royalty in a bar?!”

A few days earlier, Walter had been drinking as much as he could at a bar after receiving a severance letter from his only daughter.

Walter, who was drunk, went on a rampage despite the assistants’ attempts to dissuade him, saying, ‘I drank alcohol in my own country, so why do I have to pay?’ and ‘The people of this country exist for the royal family!’

There were reporters there.

Walter’s statement that ‘the people exist for the royal family’ was immediately published on the front page of the newspaper, and public sentiment was stirred.

The problem was that this was not the first time Walter had committed such atrocities.
